From A to B takes 8 seconds.
But before arriving, first we must reach half the distance. And this implies that the remaining 4 seconds have an half way point too.
6 seconds traveled, 2 to the end. And again, before getting there, there is a new half way point.
1 second to the end? No. Not before reaching its half, 1/2.
Proceeding, reached 7 seconds and 3/4 on the way, plus 1/4 of a second.
Travelling it, until half way, remains 1/8 of a second. But this too has an half 1/16, 1/32, 1/64 then 1/128 and so on.
There will always be fractions of fractions of fractions of a second separating us from the end.
An infinity of fractions. Numbers inside numbers, tiny and that extend without an end. Summing any of these fraction to zero and the result does not even count. Summing tens, hundreds, thousand, millions and the result is still pretty much zero. Only an infinite number of fractions can transform a zero into one, from nothing to something.

1/2+1/4+1/8+1/16+1/32+1/64+1/128+1/256+1/512+1/1024 … =1

Think now about the infinity of points that can split the distance between two human hearts.

A eternidade numa hora e o espaço que separa

Do ponto A ao ponto B, demora-se 8 segundos.
Mas antes de lá chegar, primeiro temos de atingir a metade da distância. E isto implica que os restantes 4 segundos contém por sua vez um ponto correspondente à metade.
Já percorridos 6 segundos, o ponto final a 2 segundos. E novamente antes de lá chegar existe novo ponto, a metade.
1 segundo para o final? Não, não antes de atingir a sua metade, 1/2.
Continuando, atingidos os 7 segundos e 3/4 no caminho, mais 1/4 de segundo. Percorrendo-o, até metade, fica a faltar 1/8 de segundo. Mas este também tem uma metade 1/16, 1/32, 1/64 depois 1/128 e assim sucessivamente.
Vão existir sempre fracções de frações de fracções de segundo a separar-nos do final.
Um infinito de fracções. Números dentro de números, minúsculos e que se prolongam sem fim. Some-se qualquer destas fracções a zero e o resultado nem sequer conta. Somem-se dezenas, centenas, milhares, milhões e o resultado continua a ser praticamente zero. Apenas um numero infinito destas fracções poderiam conduzir de zero a um, de nada a alguma coisa.

1/2+1/4+1/8+1/16+1/32+1/64+1/128+1/256+1/512+1/1024 … =1

Pense-se agora, na infinidade de pontos que podem dividir o espaço entre dois corações humanos.
